On February 3rd, Club Filipino and GU Men Creating Change decided that we wanted to do service for women who might not be remembered on Valentine's Day. After some research, we found that Calvary Women's Shelter in Washington, DC would be a perfect place for which to do service. Calvary Women's Shelter is a 25 bed transitional housing program for women which provides support for women in their time of need. Our project was to make Valentine's Day cards for the residents of Calvary Women's Shelter in the Leavey Center and invite those around to make cards as well. At the end, we made about 30 very nice cards that we mailed to the shelter.
