The following description is provided by GU Club Hockey in relation to their service project in partnership with Women's Club Soccer:
On February 18th, the Georgetown Men's Ice Hockey Team and the Georgetown Women's Club Soccer team joined up to go skating with the Reston Golden Devils youth hockey teams. Altogether, there were three teams of 30-40 boys and girls aged 7-12 who skated with the Hoyas, and afterwards everyone (kids, parents, siblings, and hoyas alike) enjoyed some delicious cookies and Capri Suns and free Georgetown Hockey T-shirts as prepared by the soccer girls.
Highlights of the evening include enjoying the first-ever batch of skittle-sugar cookies and receiving requests from the little guys for autographs on their new t-shirts and hockey sticks. To be honest, I'm not sure who enjoyed the night more - the awestruck little kids or ourselves! It was a tremendous experience and we very much look forward to hopefully doing it again next year!
