On February 7th, The CMEA Peer Mentors together with the Justice and Diversity in Action LLC (JDA) worked with the Meyers Institute for College Preparation to hold a workshop for 10th graders. In the workshop, we did an activity called "four corners" that enabled us to share our college experiences with the high school students while they shared their hopes and fears with us in a fun and open environment. By the end of the workshop, we went around in a circle and everyone reflected about something new they learned that day. The high school students gained a lot of insight into college life, academically and socially, while the Peer Mentors and residents of JDA floor learned about the different experiences of the students who came from various DC schools.
